Welcome at Het Licht 

Het Licht signifies The Light in the Dutch language and is often a reference to the lighting department in our film and entertainment industry. Our company provides products and services to address all aspects of entertainment industry lighting, including studio facilities rental.

Origin of Het Licht

Our history goes back to 1982 when we started doing lighting and making lighting designs for a substantial amount of film, television, and theatre productions. In 1998 we have founded our company Het Licht, as a result of a strong passion for film lighting and a personal urge to innovate. We made substantial investments in Arri lighting equipment, as well as in specifically built film lighting trucks and supersilent power generators. During the first couple of years our main focus was lighting of commercials, feature films and television/drama productions. Our focus on super efficient on set logistics coincidentally created a new standard in the field. In 2003 we moved to the City of Amsterdam where we invested in studio’s and expanded our activities in photography- and television productions.

Vision of Het Licht

Our basic intention is to provide state of the art equipment, professional services and support with a smile. Our team consists of flexible, ambitious and (on set) experienced professionals who are passionate about lighting. By combining our service credo to more sections of the entertainment lighting industry, we feel that we are able to supply our customers with sometimes unique cross industry solutions to otherwise awkward lighting problems. An important consequence of our strategy to be active in different lighting disciplines is a high level of rental activities, which results in the best possible competative rates available.

Future of Het Licht

Our initial urge to innovate has become a company tradition by now. We keep constantly investing in more efficient lighting equipment and smart solutions for logistics to create a time saving workflow on set. On a personal level we will constantly invest in the training of interns and we provide workshops throughout the year for students of the Dutch Film and Television Academy. To achieve an environmentally friendly footprint, we have invested in renewal of our lighting trucks and vans to Euro 5 EEV (Enhanced Environmentallyfriendly Vehicle), and of course our buildings use eco friendly power.

Our location Duivendrechtsekade 85b, wich is also our mail adress, is where we process requests for commercials, feature films and television/drama productions.
Our location HJE Wenckebachweg 79 is where we process requests for photography productions and small dry hire, as well as Studio Rental.
